Our Mission

Our Mission is to teach people how to be mourners as a spiritual practice through the lens of story telling. I have spent the last decade in hospice work as a chaplain and I have the opportunity to learn from thousands of families about their grief. In the beginning I saw my work as offering spiritual services to people t

The American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) manual for faith leaders states, “nearly 1 in 5 (19%) U.S. adults experiences some form of mental illness in a given year; 1 in 24 (4.1 %) has a serious mental illness; and 1 in 12 (8.5%) has a substance use disorder. Mental illness is treatable. The vast majority of individuals with mental illness continue to function in their daily lives.” Chaplains are a part of the clinical team of care which serve terminal ill patient’s and their families because religion and spirituality often play a vital role in grief. The APA also stated, “people experiencing mental health concerns often turn first to a faith leader. Which means from a public-health perspective, faith community leaders are gatekeepers or “first responders” when individuals and families face mental health or substance use problems.”

The other challenge within the mental health community is the cost. The experience of loss can send someone in a whirlwind of emotions without the proper guidance and support, more disabeling losses can occur.

Our mission is to create meaningful resources to empower you to ‘story your grief’ after Loss. All of our products sold, help to facilitate our overall goal which is to offer grief support services, for free, for people who need them the most. We not only have the expertise but also have training programs for you to start a support group in your community. We also believe that creativity is how we re-imagine our lives after loss.

Let’s begin exploring our stories together.
